It's always been my opinion that the UK would take an economic hit from Brexit for at least 10 years.

It's also my opinion that the current, 'United States of Europe' model for the EU will not last 25 years.  It might just splinter apart or it might revert back to just being a free trade zone.

But fee-free roaming was not protected in the Brexit agreement Britain signed with the EU.

That was my opinion... 25 years ago :-)

Looking at the breakup of the Soviet Union, the decentralization and globalisation of the economy and other factors, I wrote an essay about how the overall forces were against the EU. And yet... 25 years later, just one country has peeled off and several have joined since I predicted the forthcoming decline of the EU.

So much for my abilities as a prognosticator. The bad part is that I actually wrote this down and a couple of years ago, looking through old files, found the essay on my hard drive. So I learned my lesson: never write down your predictions until *after* they have come to pass. You're accuracy goes WAY up when you do it that way ;-)
