Dumbphones definitely have their place, they are cheap, reliable, and can last for over a week without charging.  Also, my grandmother can use one.

I assume other sphone brands have a similar app, but the Samsung Ultra Power Saving mode kills all be background apps but leaves Chrome, voice phone, and SMS available from a minimalist home screen. My phone will go a solid 3 days in that mode and can be stretched to 4-5 if I also power-off when I go to bed.  I use it even when I don't have to worry about a charge because it force stops everything --particularly G Maps & Waze which are hell to truly shut down.
