Is that the guy who used to work for Google?

Why yes it is as a matter of fact - http://searchengineland.com/googler-quits-to-build-browser-to-block-google-tracking-58672

I'm running it today. 2 site I normally read seem faster.  I also like the extension's sparse/utilitarian UI.

So, this totally neuters Chrome from home base? I can't saddle up except for SRWare Iron and it's a bit crashy.

As a paranoid, I can't say 'totally' but -yeah- it's showing 3 cookies blocked on a G search of Greenville SC.

SRware Iron is crashy, or Disconnect? SRware Iron is challenging Opera 11 now to be my primary browser. I haven't found it to be very crashy at all.

I think I may have too many overlapping Disconnect-esque extensions now. I may have to start pruning them pretty soon.

I've been avoiding Chrome simply because I knew it would probably phone home.  Now I'm actually keen on trying it.

Same here.  Still using Opera and not interested in Chrome.  But I would like extensions that will do this stuff for next version of Opera.

Extensions on Opera 11 are really clunky. They just don't work the same way they might on Firefox or Chrome. I think you may have to wait a while before they catch up. It feels a bit like a kludge for many Opera extensions so far.

Try SRware Iron. It's already decoupled from the mothership.

>>SRware Iron

Trying it. Mac version. So far so good. I'll give it a test.  Not sure it will replace Opera but it's early days.  I think I already like it better than Safari.

That's what I figure. There has to be some catch, some incentive, buried in the developer's final intent.  Altruism just doesn't cut it.

I don't use it much, just one of my winders that stays open with a few commonly used tabs. Come to think of it, it mainly crashes when my connection flakes out. When I was having router troubles, I couldn't keep the damn thing running. It crashed the other day when the power was out for a minute. (No UPS on the main host router.)

So, probably just related to losing connection, which normally isn't a problem.
