Never heard of it. Thanks for posting. Interesting. The NSA will cry and moan, but they have brought it upon themselves.
So, by my reckoning of ways to access the web:
- telnet is dead. Most servers will refuse a connection except via SSH - SCP, git, any command line stuff that requires authentication is all secure now on 99% of servers
- unencrpyted FTP is close to dead and after recent exploits, prognosis for future life worsening.
- SPDY or HTTP2 plus free certs and so forth will accelerate the death of the unencrypted web
.... but email has always seemed like the one area where there was so much benefit and so little action.
