Email newsletters are great. Rummaging through all your other messages to find them, not so much. These clever tools make newsletter reading a pleasure.

I'm not a fan of email newsletters.  I'd rather have an RSS feed.  Here's some tools that help.

My default advice on newlsetters is unsubscribe from all.

However, the NYT RSS feed is a firehose of undifferentiated information. The newsletter is a nice quick summary.

It's the one regular newsletter I subscribe to. Other than that there are some product newsletters, security alerts and things like that that I subscribe to.

My general observation on people who subscribe to newsletters is they have a lot of unread email in their inbox. I remember looking over one co-worker's shoulder and seeing that she had over 4000 emails in her inbox and over 2000 of them were unread. Many of the 2000 were things she could have unsubscribed from but believed that she would read them some day.
