Haven't read it all but....

Users are reporting breaches, and thousands of dollars have been stolen with the client, all over /r/teamviewer and at their support Twitter account. TV is blaming users with reusing passwords, yet users with 2FA and unique very long generated passwords were hacked.

Most of it seems to be people who have re-used the passwords that were leaked in the MySpace and LinkedIn dumps of late. This is a good time to get a password manager and start changing passwords of big accounts.

Right now if you're starting out I'd say KeePassX is the best open source option. Although I hate LogMeIn, their LastPass product is still the best in terms of features.
