Thank you for posting this.

Someone I know recently got the Google pitch to update their profile with their interests so they could be served "better" ads. I convinced them that, no, it is not in your best interest to let them serve ads that supposedly match your preferences. Quite the opposite. It's not the ads that have "ruined the internet"  (though they suck a lot of bandwidth) it is the tracking and targeting. I don't want "better" ads. I want *worse* ads and take active measures to make sure that happens

I honestly don't understand why anyone in the know would use Chrome over Chromium.

Chromium plus add blocker and using DDG as default search is a pretty Google free experience.
