Logitech Revue
« on: November 05, 2010, 05:49:12 PM »
My son-in-law installed/demo'd this on my media center/home office network. For me, it didn't add much functionality as I have the rooms hardwired with usb & network jacks where needed, so a full keyboard and trackball is readily available.  However, what did make me pay attention was the app that was available for the iPhone (android, too??) that essentially bypassed the keyboard and put the Iphone in command of everything.

US only, I'm guessing.

HAAAHAHAHA!

Oh my GOD.  Can you imagine if you have two or more people in the house with an iPhone?  Everyone would have the remote.  Talk about infighting!

Heh, I've been using ipod touch for a year to control VLC player over wifi. Music only though.

I believe the app was from Logitech and free.  It was extremely well done from what I could see. I was told that Logitech has or will have a version of the Revue that comes without the keyboard if you're going the touchscreen route.

Never really gotten around to wiring it all up and do the "home network sharing setup".

Dunno, I'm watching less and less tv and my music is mostly radio. I did spend quite a bit of cash on iTunes through the years though, but they keep stiffing you when you reinstall or change computer. Sick of it and return mostly to radio.
