Title: Odd cold-boot problem.
Post by: gm66 on July 13, 2018, 11:32:08 PM
Got a weird, cold-boot problem on a win10-64 machine. On first boot the keyboard types gibberish on the local machine, but if i RDP to another then the typing is fine. A reboot cures it. It can't be a driver race-condition problem since it's fine in RDP. Any ideas ?

Evil spirits?

I'm assuming it's a USB keyboard. What happens if you unplug the keyboard and plug it back in?

New KB made no difference so must be driver, odd that it works via RDP, maybe HID device messages are transformed over RDP?

I'd suspect mobo starting to fail. RDPing bypasses the local bus.

Good point, it's a few years old now and i have had a couple of early mobo failures.
