Toyota e-Palette
« on: January 12, 2018, 06:43:30 PM »
We'll rarely leave home in the future.

>This vehicle is meant to be a blank slate that combines connected and automated driving with commerce.

http://www.zdnet.com/article/toyotas-e-palette-and-5-reasons-why-it-could-reinvent-commerce/

-Retail stores show up at your house
-Groceries and prepared meals show up at your house
-Hotel rooms show up at your house for a couple days when guests visit
-Dentist shows up at your house

Massive disruption possibilities. Brick and mortar rent is expensive.

Like an RV with room service?

A couple of thoughts:
In an urban/suburban environment street parking will be a limiting factor.
Do you think people will be so wrapped up in the virtual world that they won't seek interaction with other people?

It seems like an RV that drives itself.

I keep telling people to buy RV resort stock. In 20 years my generation will sell their homes and wake up at a different national park every morning.

That sounds like a really nice vacation -- do all the traveling at night when you sleep and spend the waking hours having fun.
