This I found interesting:

--- Quote ---In food, increasing numbers of people now prefer to buy local and often. Fewer big weekly shops mean out-of-town superstores are under pressure and the big supermarkets are trying to lure in other retailers to take space they no longer need.
--- End quote ---

Mackin USA:
We shop once a week.

We drive 30 min to a BIG BOX > Costco
Then to Trader Joe's
Then to either Kroger or Harris Teeter
We bring it all home and we are good for a week.

We live in a semi-rural area with many farms and the produce to crap.

That is all

Good article.  I'm continually amazed at just how hide-bound the retail industry is.  Like newspapers and broadcasters before them, they somehow thought that they'd escape change.

>Costco

Dead man walking.  Gonna take 5-10 years.

Drastic:
>hide-bound

hah, term o the day.

>>Costco
>Dead man walking.  Gonna take 5-10 years.

littleman:
