I don't believe any influencers the hotel I work for have ever disclosed that they received some sort of compensation. I would guess that 99% of travel articles you see are written by someone who had the trip wholly or partially offset
Note: I don't say 99% of travel articles are compensated or have gotten free stuff, but of the ones in sources you might see, the rate is very high. The exception is old school media names you've heard of (NBC, New York Times). They usually have rules against taking free stuff. Of course, unless they come unannounced (rare), they get all manner of special consideration that even they don't disclose.
