I'll add that Walmart bought the UK's George clothing line.  I find Amz's parallel product development path interesting.

Despite the fact it is in "Drapers"  I am stunned at how few people in the clothing industry I talk to are aware of this.

I thought groceries would be the next battlefield. From the way the giants are armoring themselves, it's apparently to be clothing.

Maybe they would like to buy Rupert The Tailor from me.  I do it already.

Step 1: Snap a picture
Step 2: "Alexa, how do I look?"
Step 3: "You look great. But might I suggest this sweater to pair with that shirt"
Step 4: Profit

Holy Crap!

Amazon is by far the biggest beneficiary of e-commerce growth, accounting for 43 cents of every dollar spent online in the nation last year, estimated Slice Intelligence, a company that measures online shopping.

This year, Amazon will ... become the largest seller of apparel in America, by several analysts’ estimates.

According to a new survey from Morgan Stanley, nearly 46 percent of consumers purchased clothes on Amazon (AMZN) over the last twelve months. This marked the second highest percentage in the survey, trailing only Walmart's (WMT) 60 percent. Purchase frequency seems to be picking up, too, as Morgan Stanley found that 36 percent of consumers have purchased clothing on Amazon a "few times" this year vs. 31 percent a year ago.

We ran a Dwyane Wade shop for a while when it was primarily his Way of Wade shoes. Seems to make a bit more sense why he isn't working with us anymore since he is branching out into other apparel.
