I got tired of every website locating me in Florida. Sounds great from a privacy perspective, but Google always shows me a Florida local pack. On a recent effort to order a garbage disposal, it was $50 more once I put in my address on Home Depot (they were giving me the Florida price and, even though I am ordering it delivered, it was an extra $50 in California).
Finally got tired of it after a search for just thing thing I was looking for today... only to find that I have to go to Florida to get it. So I decided to give up *more* information to all the people tracking me. I installed Location Guard, whose purpose is to hide your location, but I'm actually setting it to show my actual location to see what the web is like when websites actually have you located within a 100 miles of where you live.
