A 2016 study carried out by Princeton University researchers revealed that some companies can send an audio signal to your browser when you land on certain web pages and can use the way in which your computer processes that signal as an audio fingerprint. Still, if you’re worried about these methods of fingerprinting, you can disable JavaScript in your browsers.
