Is this wise?
« on: February 15, 2011, 01:46:23 PM »
Just heard on the news that Gold went up $10 an ounce today.... Did a search for gold prices for more info and the attached came up.

I clicked through on the "seo gold" and it is owned by Elsevier - there are a series of questions; budget, keywords, target area etc then name and address.

Is this not a bit shotgun targetting?

interesting.  A friend of mine used to be involved with them until about 2 or 3 years ago - pre-acquisition.  Quite a successful model they had (at the time at least, don't know now).

I don't get them showing up.  Possible its expanded broad match without much negative matching I guess.

I can't imagine that having a remotely positive ROI.  The only thing I could think of is that it could fool the very foolish into thinking they are really good at SEO because they "rank" so well for a competitive term.

do they have a 'gold, silver and bronze' pricing structure by any chance? If so I suspect Google Adwords Expansion team have pursuaded them to do a test.

We once picked an adwords client who sold a monitored burglar alarm system.

Google Adwords team had steered him towards throwing thousands at keyphrases like ::
anxiety
worry
stress
... on all broad match.

What a cunch of bunts.

I've never seen a google expanded list which doesn't make me say "bunts", frankly.  I'm sure someone somewhere must have. Mayby.
