Thereís one key point that is being forgotten among the talk of 30-minute drone delivery and ordering your kitchen roll via Alexa: when you sell through Amazon, these customers are Amazonís, not yours.

True. With a very few exceptions for vendors who have a track record of providing great value, I'm vendor agnostic. In fact, one of the main reasons I use Amazon is that they usually give me more clout as a customer than buying it through a vendor directly.

Yeah, this can't be forgotten.  Those of us who sell on Amazon are basically playing on Amazon's playground.  I do get customers who thank me directly and say that they will do business with me again, but those are a small percentage.

I had an exchange with an uncle a couple of weeks ago on a related topic.  He sent me a link.  I wouldn't mind sharing with you my thoughts on the topic, but I think I need to do it in the IC section.
