Wow...
- shocking to be reminded of the internet world in 1995.
- slide 24 - 29% of video viewing done on screens whose natural orientation is vertical. I had never considered that we could see certain forms of video have their default be portrait mode.
- Slack - why do I keep hearing about this and how it facilitates communication? What is so great about it? Am I dense for not seeing it or is it one of those things you have to try to "get"?
68 - Teens #2 social network is Twitter. I would never have guessed. FB is #3, which reminds me of a comment here where someone said his daughter says FB is for old people.
70 - #3 usage of phone camera among millennals - depositing checks.
95 - percent of global GDP by country/region, 1820-2010... cool chart. China and India curves pre1900 are esp. interesting.
103 - percent of Americans receiving some sort of govt benefit. Probably reflects aging population... my uncle refuses to believe he's covered by "socialized medicine" or receives any government benefit....
106 - % of US population that is foreign-born - ascendant but still lower than during the late 19th century
109 - millennials now 35% of labor force
114 - disconnect between what millennials say they value (interesting work - 30%/11%) versus what managers thing they value (high pay - 27%/48%) (mill/man).
122 - I am old. I only recognize 3 of 24 services that millennials supposedly love and have only used 2 of them...
One thing where I am very much like millennials - I hate meetings, but I have to go to one now....
