I meant to post on this yesterday. Their app is terrible. It's very difficult to find content that you might like. They have you browse everything, including all the stuff you've already seen. No ratings. Their "new releases" have stuff from last year (that I watched already, last year) and it is July.

I think the reason they show you things you've seen and at least partly why they removed ratings is because doing those two things would make it very easy to see how little high quality content they currently have.

They have serious problems with the product, and that's before we get to the super annoying, yet easily fixable stuff that I constantly see complaints about like auto-playing previews.

All while INcreasing the price. I can't understand why they are surprised by a subscriber drop. They are clueless.

- The dollar volume of homes purchased by foreigners from April 2018 through March 2019 dropped 36% from the previous year, according to the National Association of Realtors.
- Foreigners bought 183,100 properties with a total value of about $77.9 billion, down from 266,800 properties valued at $121 billion a year earlier.

Smells like a trigger.

Marketplaces / Re: Amazon reviews don't match the product listed

This seems to be some kind of seller manipulation where they change products on their listings, rather than some kind of system errors.

This is really starting to p##s me off. I cannot get a good product from amazon because of these fake reviews.

My new screen protector broke, so I ordered another brand that came with 2. Reviews looked good after digging through the nonsense I posted above. Well, they suck and don't actually fit my phone correctly. I go to return them and notice the reviews are now cleaned up down to 4 reviews and 2 stars overall. WTF amazon.

Third time around, I still see these garbage listing with reviews that don't match and some new products with great ratings. Looking at reviews, every. single. one. was dropped on the same date on some of these products. It's pretty glaringly obvious to anyone taking a close look.

I guess Amazon doesn't care since better ratings, fake or not, sell more product.

I can remember bottle rocket wars using bamboo as launch "rifles".

Luckily I had moved on once they graduated to shotguns with rocksalt shells.

Interestingly, the product I posted here has been fixed, but not others.

Here are a few more when searching for an S8 plus screen protector. Two of the first 4 listings that are not sponsored or "amazon's choice":

Reviews are for a backpack leash, watch strap, and iphone case:

Reviews show this is a watch strap, different phone (A9) accessory, and some kind of pre-workout product:

I saw some other anecdotal comments on reddit since my OP about not being able to use amazon reviews because of this.

Plug in a url and it will gauge reviews on retailers: Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Steam, Sephora

Also works on Yelp and Tripadvisor.

Here is what they thought of the seller of the screen protector I posted a few weeks back which listings reviews and questions didn't match the product (listing is now fixed):

Seller rated D, reviews rating now shows B since this product reviews are now fixed. It was F. Seller rating has remained D.

Knownhost has been the best hosting company I've ever used, and that's saying a lot. (Probably 40-45 hosts over 20+ years.) If you need a managed server or vps, I wouldn't go elsewhere.

Exciting exercise session there ergo.

I was only able to get 4 gym sessions in due to the holiday, no gym access on Thurs or Sat. One vball session = 5 total.

I actually do watch, but probably should watch more, as our livelihood depends on not being left behind. Almost missed the mobile boat and that ain't happening again.

I figured someone would bring up the referral angle from fb, and imo that's different. Those people are asking for recommendations from people they know and they aren't responding to ads. Sure, there's some potential there, but in the grand scheme of things it is small, for now.

I have a client who gets more calls than website visits, from his GMB, about 25 per day. It's all relative to business type, audience and their specific needs.

Now if I were still slangin aff? I'd be with you 110%.

What people were doing online before social compared to today is not a zero sum game. 10-15 years ago, there were lots of people watching tv, reading newspapers, etc. where they now do that consumption online. If you were in those big medias, yes you should be in the new ones. If you weren't, then maybe you don't need to be in these heavily just yet.

Let's take the local plumber example from above. This guy does not have a tv budget, maybe some small newspaper ads, from old school media. But, yellow pages made this guy live or die before the Internet. He should have shifted his YP budget to digital years ago and most of that should be seo/ppc now. Unless he is doing new builds or major refit jobs, he's a repair guy like most plumbers. I am pretty sure no one goes to insta/fb/youtube to find a local plumber. Sure, they might go to youtube to DIY, and that would be a good place to advertise, but only after SEO/PPC potential is fully exhausted as those leads will be much higher quality.
