Water Cooler / DIY hydraulic press
« on: April 20, 2019, 12:38:03 PM »
Started making a hydraulic press, old juicer getting annoying what with clogging, cleaning etc. Just need to add a plunger to the top plate, a platform for the saddle of the jack, and another acrylic sheet to hold jack in place at bottom. All you need to do to clean this is rinse the bowl then throw away or empty the bag your chopped fruit/veg goes in each pressing.

They have fields for cstom meta data, which you fill in, then have to export, then edit, then upload, what the f### ?

Glad there's not many people using this dinosaur of a CMS!

I ordered a spool of wire from an ebay seller, when it arrived there was obviously a problem, so i contacted Kevin at tech support :

Hi, this wire is broken somewhere, you can't read resistance and irt fails a connectivity test.

I'd like to arrange a return please, and can you test the next one before sending it out? I need an unbroken wire on the spool.

Thanks, Gary.

In your original ebay message you stated that the wire is snapped to which I responded stating that it is not possible but in the message you sent afterwards you now state that we advertised the wire as enamel but is is not.

May I make it clear that we only stock enamelled copper wire (which you have received) and also that it is not possible for this wire to be snapped. I am not sure now what the problem is but if you wish to return the wire you can do so but it will be at your own cost as there is nothing wrong with what we have sent you.

Hi, thanks for replying.

I thought there was no resistance and that it must be broken, but the reason there is no resristance is because it's not enamelled so it was in effect a dead short to the meters.

I've tried scraping, i've tried burning off but there is no enamel coating,

Thanks, Gary.

Hi Gary.
I can assure you that we only stock enamelled copper wire and had you have scraped the enamel with a blade it comes off.

Me (feeling daft now):

Hi Kevin,

i'm sorry, i was wrong. I scraped it with a stanley and it came off.

Apologies for wasting your time and thanks for the swift response.

Odd that it wouldn't melt with a lighter though, is it heatproof?

All the best, Gary.

Hi Gary.

Yes the enamel is a very high temperature that would normally require a blow torch to remove the enamel.
Glad it all sorted out though.

Kind regards,

He coulda told me that when i first mentioned i couldn't get it off with a lighter!!!

Water Cooler / Mailbird is okay
« on: December 07, 2018, 05:28:05 PM »
Enjoying mailbird as a simple outlook alternative, except for the lack of rules/filters (which is a planned feature.

Zoho is good too, nice interface.

Ditched outlook now, bloatware that it is.

Not seen one of these before, a .iso file as an attachment, which i assume autoruns when you click it, depending on your automount settings.

Over 50% of traffic for my amazon aff site is mobile, but my lovingly-crafted tables get all buggered up, showing as a vertical list rather than a horizontal comparison - totally defeating the object of the table.

I know from searches it's not an uncommon problem and as far as i can tell the best solution is scrollable tables.

Is there anything better than that? I've tried all major WP table plugins plus a few obscure ones.

Traffic / Page-title changes not being picked up by G

Anyone noticed G taking a while to pick up page-title changes recently?

I've forced a re-crawl on the sites and then a re-crawl on individual pages but G hasn't reflected changes in SERPs for 3 days now.
