We just hired a young kid with a degree in AI and prediction modelling. We use him to build predition churn models for customers in a huge ecommerce shop. Fascinating!

He's writing a paper on Cryto and pointed me to this stuff:

Not sure I get it though - it's a browser:

Traffic / Google Search vs. Youtube Searches
« on: November 01, 2017, 03:43:03 PM »
I am doing some research for a client who wants to know the search volume BOTH on Google and Youtube. Eg. does anyone have any idea of how to pull some search numbers exclusively on youtube searches?

I tried https://keywordtool.io/youtube but the data seem borked and totally random?

Water Cooler / Let's talk ginger.
« on: August 14, 2017, 08:06:24 AM »
Well, because ginger is awesome.

I have experimented with ginger in a lot of ways as I can't get enough of it.

I've done a nice combo of fresh ginger and lots of lime juice in the blender and then through a sieve. In the fridge and you have a nice fresh drink.

The other day I found a ginger beer recipe:

1. Ground fresh ginger in a jar with equal amount of sugar.
2. Let is rest for 3-4 days until it ferments and starts producing gas.
3. Boil a nice huge chunk of ginger with 1L of water for 30 mins.
4. Put it through a sieve and mix in some sugar for taste and further fermentation.
5. Add another liter of water.
6. Let it sit on the kitchen counter for a few days to buble a bit more.
7. Pour in a bottle and keep in the fridge.

8. Mix ginger beer, dark rum and lime and knock yourself out on Dark & Stormy.

I've also done the sushi type ginger, but getting the taste and texture right is hard. Needs some work.

Web Development / Schema mark-up experts?
« on: May 19, 2017, 12:26:04 PM »
I'm looking a lot into Schema mark-up and especially for clients. However my brain is not good at doing structure and I'm a bit confused as to what actually implement.

Anyone here sharp on Schema or know anyone or any tools/sites?

Web Development / Bulk index checking?
« on: May 18, 2017, 08:39:13 AM »
I often need to check a current sitemap against actual indexed pages on that domain. Eg. I need to ensure that all pages from the (xml) sitemap have crawled and indexed.
Could be done manually, but I got too many to check.

Any ideas, tools or services which - safely - can check a couple of thousand URLs?

Hardware & Technology / Search replace for Windows?
« on: March 21, 2017, 07:23:18 AM »
I remember RC using some nice program to do bulk search/replace in a bunch of html files without opening them etc.

I don't remember which one though? ..and doing searches yields nothing but hacked malware sites..

Traffic / Search Console - Select target country..
« on: October 26, 2016, 08:34:46 AM »
I've been thinking about the "select target country" option in Google Search Console.

We have several clients with a .com targeting the whole english speaking world and I wonder if choosing US will make the appear higher in the US, but lower in all other english speaking markets?

So, leave it be and don't choose an option or go with the US as it's the large market?

Doing an audit for a big ecommerce client and have all the numbers in:

Site: domain.com shows: 345.000 URL's
Total indexed from Search Console: 595.000 URL's
The XML sitemap has 440.000 URLs, only 364.000 indexed though.

What would you do? What advice? Got a couple of points, but would love your take initially :)

Traffic / Problems with Google Webmaster Tools? Drops verified users?
« on: November 24, 2015, 03:48:42 PM »
Recently we had a bunch of issues with clients sites getting "kicked off" Webmaster Tools - eg. our verification has gone and we cannot verify the sites again using the GA or Tag Manager scripts as a verification method. In most cases  even the client/owner of the account has been booted. Resubmitting the sites and verifying using the html file upload works, but all users are gone?

Anybody else experiencing this?
