How to do it:)

Get 10K clean ones and put on dedicated ip then send from nice domain and site with interesting email
Take rubbish ones and send from lots of shared ip's to a different domain
Remove all bounces
Now have semi clean list
Run semi clean list on different shared ip's
Remove all spam reports etc
Now you have an almost clean list

Drop 1K lost into the clean dedicated pot

Keep going as the clean list gets better you can add more to new send

Takes time, money and friendly email companies

Met guys this week and interesting revenue twist is product suppliers are willing to pay to offer customers alternative products....ie recipe says Heinz baked beans, but you can get Cross and Blackwell for half the price

Concept is very simple

Currently people goto the supermarket and buy loads of stuff and then try to make some food from what they bought.

In the future people will decide what they want to eat and the supermarket will deliver the suitable food.

Thus shopping for food will change.

Someone will create some apps to do it.....thats why I got involved. Nick got me and 3 "clever" advisors. He also then showed it to 2 vc's who backed it. He already has more vc's sniffing round.

Nick personally is a good salesman and has surrounded himself with people who can deliver a vision.

How the world will split in the future

ceo, owners income will rise more
clever people who support the above people - will keep being well paid, but there wont be many of them
the rest - will have no rises as will be completely replaceable

Look at your own companies, the facts, etc

Male or Female?

We are building a sort of certainity model where we look at other factors and group them on how certain we are. We do this for lots of things

50% of people have their first name in the email

As we have lots of matching tools we have never bothered asking for first name

From what we see having the name in the subject line is the only real difference you see on a send...but that also brings other issues...it can feel creepy people tell us.

Advantage of having name is you can segment into male/female and we see huge difference in the effects dependent upon sex.

Some data

Females in shopping/discount always open better, click more and buy more...but probably because clothes/beauty products have huge margins and hence can have massive sales.

Men open more gadget emails

Weekend sends are always bad ideas
Get in the inbox for after lunch is a good time
Avoid Mondays at 9.00

We have data coming out of our ears, but as yet we have only done high level investigations.

We run scripts against the email to see if you have your name in it. We also take your email and cross reference it against loads of db's that we have access to. It's illegal to send emails to these db's but not illegal to use them on a server.

We have managed to match about 5 millions names.

Ps the game is to ask for as little as possible and then at the backend try to fill in the gaps

Can I join?

I have no choice after having a major hip operation, which involved lots of gruesome stuff. So I am aiming for 4/5 times per week now for atleast 90 minutes per day. I have been in the gym most days for the past 2 months but not at this intensity.

So today was day 1 of the new regime:
10 mile bike ride
1 mile row
1/2 mile swim
