Well, I'll go ahead and state the obvious: I completely fell off the wagon here.

Trying to pull my crap together again, and get back on board, but I expect I'll be sending $20 to someone in a few weeks. heh

It's just font + worksheet sets, one time sales... I don't currently have sales volume to draw interest from a third-party affiliate manager, I wouldn't think. That's why I was thinking I could set something up in-house to start, and if it took off, I would then consider using a third party.

Besides JAM, which seems overpriced to me, there's also Snap Affiliate for ZenCart, but I'd heard that was a bear to set up. I suppose I'll get the site rebuilt for starters, and then figure out what I'm going to use. :-)

>speedo

no chance!

hahahaha! Spoil sport. You're raining on Heather's parade.

So, I did a workout yesterday... I'm switching it up to the program I used last time I tried to stick to something and get in shape. My hamstrings and butt are KILLING me, but everything else feels fine. I guess that's what I get for using a female-specific workout regimen... apparently all we care about is our lower body?!

I forgot I even requested an invite to this site: http://ftcy.co/xaNcPD

Fitocracy has an online workout tracker, and (of course) special interest discussion groups and the like. If anyone's interested, the link above should get you an invite. I figured if I joined, it might help keep me on track... probably won't do as good as being accountable to you guys, but if a bunch of us joined, we could start our own group.  ;D

I lose weight like I quit smoking... repeatedly, but never for very long. ;-) I used to be one of those people who couldn't gain weight if I tried, and I did try. Often commented that I'd like to gain weight. Then thanks to my thyroid taking a hike (probably starting about 10 years ago), I got my wish. Be careful what you wish for indeed.

My lowest weight in the last 10 years was 148 down from an all-time high of 200+ (The Drs office weighed me in at 199, but that's after I dropped a little weight). Then I slowly crept back up to the mid-160s, where I am now.

I know there are plenty of easy ways I could lose weight... I dropped 10lbs in a month by laying off the beer, but I don't want to lay off the beer. Therefore I must exercise. And I don't particularly like to. So having a bunch of people to be accountable to, even if it's just online, should help with motivation. *crosses fingers*

And after looking at Littleman's photos, damn. I have no good excuse for not dropping 15-20lbs.

Schweet. I intend to start M-F on Monday then. I'll warm up a bit this weekend, so's I don't injure myself. ;-)

Has anyone invented a stationary bike-powered laptop yet?

Monetization / Affiliate software?
« on: January 06, 2012, 06:36:31 AM »
So, I'm looking to rebuild and promote my KidsFonts site. It's been suggested I do an affiliate program before, and that seems like a great idea... so is anyone around here running their own affiliate program? And if so, what software are you using to manage it? JAM seems to be the one recommended for ZenCart, but I'm just wondering if there's anything better out there. Thanks!

AFAIK, the part about accomplices getting charged with any death that happens during commission of a felony is pretty common. Five people rob a bank, one person shoots someone, they're all nailed with it.

Good for that girl, I say.

Where do we post to sign up? Tried searching the site... I'd like to commit to 5 days/week also!

Everything I've had from Stone Brewing has been fantastic... their Arrogant Bastard Ale is really exceptional, if you like bitter beer (which I know you do, 4Eyes :-).

The other breweries must not be as widely distributed, geographically speaking, because I don't believe I've tried any of them.

That's because nobody's surprised when Hef does something sleazy.  ;)

I just hope his "playmates" are well compensated. *eeewww*

It's "sleazy" when there is a child involved.  Were she 18 (OK, only a year) then really, it's weird, but not technically sleazy.

Except I still think it's sleazy.  But technically..it's not.

See, I would say it's still verrrry sleazy at 18, it's just not illegal anymore. Legality is something with definite rules, exceptions and definitions. Sleaze is a total judgement call. ;) Having said that, I have a very hard time thinking of any 20+ year age difference that wouldn't seem sleazy if the younger partner is <25 or so.

Once you get to a 40 year difference? The sleaze factor may disappear once the younger person is in their late 20s-30s, but even a 60 year old woman with a 100 year old man would seem odd IMO. It's either a creepy daddy-complex thing below a certain age, or a weird nurse-caretaker thing above it.

all I know is that  my daughter will be a virgin till she is at least 45, no matter how many boyfriends, husbands or even children she has before then!

LOL! Will she also never have done any drugs nor touched so much as a drop of alcohol? And what if she ends up lesbian, does that mean she'll be a virgin forever?  ;D

Yes, I'd definitely agree the girl's family has got to have problems. 1) Dad had to hear about the guy from "an anonymous source"?! I'm inclined to look sideways at the parent for a wholesale breakdown of family communication like that. 2) If a 17yo is interested in partners THAT much older than themselves, the whole "role models of healthy adult relationships" part of their childhood was seemingly absent, to what extent we often don't know.

Brings to mind a criminal case here in the US within the past year or so: A 13 yo girl was impregnated by her 31yo "boyfriend", and her family didn't know about it until she landed in the hospital after a self-induced abortion. Boyfriend admitted to the cops, after his arrest, that he'd disposed of the "evidence" in the woods nearby... nevermind the details. First thing I thought was, "What in the F**K is wrong with her @#$%^&*#@&%$# parents?!?!?!" Next was, "I hope the pedophile scum who called himself her boyfriend never sees another day of freedom in his sorry life." Although I'm sure he probably will.

In this case, was her family screwed up? Undoubtedly. But a 57 year old man who 'dates' a 17yo girl? Sleeeeeeeazy slimy loser bastard. And so was the 50yo who married the 17yo you know. And I can't help but wonder what in the hell went wrong with her upbringing as well. Sure, there are cases that show not all rotten kids had awful families, but I always suspect adults before children.

And if I had a 37 year old daughter (that'd be a trick!), I'd be more than happy to let her find out if that was the case.  ;D
