What are Web Archives?

A web archive is a record of web resources. It may include HTML and images, scripts, stylesheets, as well as video, audio and other elements that web pages and web apps are made of, all in one file.

What makes Webrecorder different?

What most differentiates Webrecorder is its focus on "dynamic web content." The web once delivered documents, like HTML pages. Today, it delivers complex software customized for every user, like individualized social media feeds. Other existing digital preservation solutions were built for that earlier time and cannot adequately cope with what the web has become. Webrecorder, by contrast, focuses on all that dynamic content, such as embedded video and complex javascript, addressing our present and future.

If you want to dive deep into how the Apollo Guidance computer worked, there is a group that went through the effort to restore one and documented the process.

"Don't try to teach people who don't want to learn."

Trying to teach skills to people who do not want to learn has been a tremendous source of frustration and pain.  It has cost me friendships.  At times it has made be believe that one can't really help people.  I don't think that is true anymore, but I do think it is very hard and more often than not the effort will be a bust.

Processed carbs also have a very long shelf-life also.  When there is too much surplus they dump them on consumers at very low prices.  I believe refined carbs are addictive; yet we subsidies corn and soybean production.

You just can't convince a dedicated non-believer.  For years my dad said to me "If they really went to the moon how come we don't have any pictures of the landing area".  Later after the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter beamed down images he denied those too.  No amount of proof will be good enough.

Recession fears rise for middle-class families

Middle-class Americans are less optimistic about their economic prospects than they were just six months ago, according to a new report from CUNA Mutual Group.

Although the majority of those polled said they feel relatively stable overall, they graded their chances of achieving the American dream as a “C,” down from a “B-minus” in the fall, the insurance provider found. Close to half were increasingly concerned about an upcoming recession.

From a few weeks back:

If you really want privacy I think you are going to have to opt out of the 21st. century.

I heard that the Phoenix area stay above 100 degrees all night long sometimes in the Summer.

I go through Ting and give them as little as possible.

High density housing has its place, as long as the infrastructure is there to support it.  For the most part we aren't seeing that here in the Bay Area.

I did 4/4 gym sessions and a bit of skateboarding last week.

>but it was really fun to see in action.

I think I'd find that more terrifying than fun, but I suppose that you've been conditioned over the years.

4/4 gym workouts and a little walking with the kids for me.

>LM - are you using that to convert to title case? Could be handy.

ATM, I was just going to lower case from Title Case, but I am sure I will need the reverse some time soon.
I swapped in a different extension above which does the same thing, but has more case options:
Title Case
Proper case
Start Case
lower case
