We totally lucked out.  I don't know what Fort Lauderdale recorded but we lost a lot of trees. No damage to the inside of my place or the building itself.  Couple thousand in landscaping and we are good to go.

Feeling bad for the others that weren't so lucky.

Hoping this things blows right by us.

Ok, I taped the westward facing impact windows.

On the eastward facing side I shut the shutters, and we have 18' of hurricane glass doors.

I just felt the first blast of wind.

The photo is a good summary of our status report, regarding our departure.

I'm about 100 yards East of the 's' on Port Everglades.

Mandatory evacuation, all around me; everyone East of US1 is supposed to get out on Thursday.

Publix already out of water.

I got water yesterday, but I'm preparing the truck for extended car camping; plan to wait around until we have a better handle on where this is going, but 'offshore' sounds fantastic to me.

He walked away, a free man.

I have absolutely no idea wtf happened, but they finally had a trial, and let him go.

His father was a high ranking officer in the Navy. They also said he was a high level Mason. Hard to say if favors were called in, but Ron shot an unarmed man, in front of his friends and family, then turned him self in, and (I thought) confessed, in a State that supposedly has mandatory minimum jail time for offenses with a firearms, and was let go.

yup, its seeing it as a flag...

When I took a snapshot of the top half of the battery, and named it the exact same name, it came up with 'hardware'.... with was more in-line what I was thinking:)

So be forewarned, that thing is quick to go to war:)

I think it's possible they are combining the term 'battery', with 'battle', as a misspelling, and seeing the "+" as a flag.  I see the same thumbnail repeated at the bottom of that SERP, that led me to the page ATTACHED... + is the only thing that jumps out at me.

So there I was... innocently dragging a partial image of lithium boat battery (with a file name of battery-trash.png) into the search box, hoping Google Image Search might identify the manufacturer.... but instead of finding that, it came up with this... "Best guess for this image: battle of el alamein" (SEE ATTACHED)

Me: "Hey Google, Can you help me find a battery?"
Google: "Unfortunately, we seem to be all out of batteries, but we have some death and destruction, you might find of interest..."

...and yes, I was logged out; that's default search.

Yeah it's off shore now and it's a non event here, ATM.

Definitely a big storm, but looks like it is going to miss us clean, despite how it looks on radar.
