Yes, but presumably as new people age in, they will be less susceptible to fake newsletters and conspiracy theories.
What I see with my parents' generation is a frequent inability to discern even the most basic urban legends and a level of boredom that leads them to forward all kinds of ridiculous things to their friends, often pushing a very specific worldview. My dad doesn't forward anything, but his inbox is full of crackpot and often toxic ideas.
I don't think today's 40 year olds are going to start doing that once they retire.
