When I first read the title I thought it was a former spammer who started the company, not a guy who worked for Y in their cleanup department.

Anyone else getting sick of the use of the term ninja being misused by the web world?  I know that historically geeks have always tried to make themselves sound cool ("You're the webmaster? really.... is that what you do when you are not being a Dungeon Master?  You ready for the wedgie now?"), but the ninja thing is getting really tired.

If you spend your day fighting samurai with the cunning use of peasant tools as improvised weapons then fine, I'll give you the ninja thing.  If you sit behind a keyword staring at code you are clearly not a ninja.

Sorry - not really relevant.  I'm on a short fuse today.

Yes.. and we could probably come up with a sizeable list of similar irritations if we put our mind to it.

Well, if we're building a list may I suggest "guru".  Having your own wordpress blog and a lack of humility doesn't make you a guru any more than my man boobs make me a woman.

Screw it, can we add "rockstar" as well.  I don't think I have seen anyone referring to themselves as "SEO Rockstar", but I swear there are a couple out there who have agreed to call each other it in the hope it sticks.  If you even tolerate someone referring to you in this way without correction you are not a Rockstar, you are in fact a prize c##k.    If you happen to have at least a gold disk of two for the production of music in the rock genre, but happen to do SEO work at the weekend I will gladly stand corrected. Otherwise knob off.

Sorry agerhart - I think I have spoiled your thread.

Ha!  No problem....I hate the term ninja too.

Our fat lazy developer called himself a Drupal Ninja....what a joke.

If someone calls themselves a ninja it is your moral duty to throw a sharp metal star at their head.
