Fine and contemporary art sites.
« on: October 12, 2016, 09:45:10 AM »
Potential client who sells all sorts of art online, anyone know how competitive this market is?

A cursory inspection implies that it's medium-compoetition but i have no experience of art galleries.

Cheers, Gary.

Its a tough space because there thousands of artists selling their stuff online and then you have many art retailers who are pushing their prints too.  If the artist doesn't have her/his own brand then you are stuck fighting against tens of thousands of other art sellers for generic keywords.  In the PPC space I have to bid very low on terms to make any profit and sales trickle on very slowly.  The click to sales ratio is horrible.

Some visually attractive banners to circulate on the content network could do a lot to get the artist's name out there.

Bid modestly, target carefully and let things run for a while.

Curious how this ended up going, or even if it did since you mentioned it was a prospective client.
