Controlling sub-listing displays in Google?
« on: May 24, 2013, 10:32:21 PM »
I'm not sure what it's called, but when you do a domain search and the top result will list a few sub-pages for the domain as well as the main listing.  Has anybody here had any luck/experience manipulating this?  For instance, include "blog" but not "personal"?

IIRC you can use Webmaster Tools to remove specific sitelinks, and then G will choose others to replace them. I don't think you can specify which ones you want though.

I did read somewhere, sometime ago about how to rank your forum profile within the hosts sitelinks. That was basically blasting it with links. Not sure if this is still true today.

But here's an post that may point you in the right direction - http://archive.trafficplanet.com/topic/4990-some-sites-get-even-links-to-inner-pages-under-the-description-in-google-serps-how/#entry58041

most popular clicks from the homepage, I think (p'rapse not, could be more complicate way to get same data). You seem to be able to effect it with a bit of IA to encourage clicks on a big red flashing button which points to the page you want. Takes aaaaaaaages though, you'll probably change your mind before it updates!
