Why are you not getting solar. Where you can of course.

Me personally?
1I don't like the look of the panels.
2I don't need another minimum wage job tending the system.
3I've never been satisfied with how to solve the future roof maintenance issues for the section under the mounted panels.

I haven't seen mention of them lately, but there are supplemental "plug-n-play" systems that do not use batteries. I'm still not happy with the look.

>>Why are you not getting solar.

I did just get solar, though the location is not great and I suppose it remains to be seen what the effect on carbon footprint is.

>>I don't like the look of the panels

That will become an accepted norm and, probably, a luxury we can't really afford. In any case, I sort of like the look. More to the point, though, they are mostly very unobtrusive.

>>I don't need another minimum wage job tending the system.

???. Our system is brand new, but there's almost no tending to do. If you live in a very dusty environment, that might be an issue.

>> roof maintenance issues

Mount them on a pole in the backyard. They don't have to go on the roof. But in general, I do not like any perforations to the roof. I thought about holding out for the solar shingles, but wanted to move forward. If I had the space, I'd do a pole mount.

On the other hand, it's effectively a sun shade on the roof with room to circulate underneath.

Yeow!  You need to get a buddy in Norway to loan you a Tesla.

Well, electricity prices are also soaring. I need a wind mill and couple of Teslas.

I saw somewhere that petrol in Norway is $12 per gal.  Heck, I'd buy an EV too with all the incentives they get.
