Nissan has not been the best about supporting their previous customers when it comes to the Leaf. Unlike Tesla, Nissan didn't put in a cooling system into their battery packs, so they are dying at a much faster rate than other electric cars. It would be alright if they had good customer support with the batteries, but instead they are jacking up the price for battery replacements. A customer was recently quoted $9k for a new pack -- about twice the cost of a used Leaf. People are speculating that the high cost of battery packs are a way for Nissan to push previous customers into buying new cars, but the backlash is pushing them away from their brand.
