That was my thought, too. Particularly since corporate PR departments have a track record of minimizing the breach numbers when first announced, then slowly raising their estimates after the public moves on to the next security disaster.

As one of those articles in the other thread mentioned, you now really have no alternative except to freeze your credit records.

Minor PITA. Unless you LOSE YOUR PIN!, then it's a major PITA.

Pretty crappy, glossed-over, lip-service article.  There is exposure to fraud and identity theft that isn't just direct attacks on your bank accounts or credit cards --such as using your identity when going to a hospital's emergency room.  We need some deeper guidance now.
