Yeah, the 'early adopter' fee is about $40k, I'd say.
BUT big biz, cities, & govs are pushing the market and the insane $$$$ for now. They all want to look green and are throwing dumpster-loads of money at custom solutions.

I sent that article to my buddy "King Of The Land Rovers," whose been dropping everything from Mercruisers to Mercedes diesels in LRs for decades now. He now builds crate engine kits about 6 at a time. He'll be doing it one day ...but not at $60k.
At 12k, I have 2 antiques I'd convert today; VW Thing and Triumph TR3.
