Finding an old item listed on ebay.
« on: September 14, 2016, 03:03:24 PM »
I am looking for an archive of ebay for something I bought on 09 Dec, 2014

Archive.org does not have it, any ideas?  I want the text, as I want to put it back on, and it was sold technically, and I cannot remember the details like Boyesen Power Reeds, etc.

Try searching with whatever words you remember but filter for "sold" listings only. There's a box in the left column for that.

I don't know how far back that would reach but it's worth a try.

Thanks for that.

I have the item number, it has been removed.  I have no record except of the purchase itself so the title in gmail. So I was wondering if someone had spidered it.

Tried again in Archive.org, to see if I could find it under a different url, but they seem to only spider to a category level, not an item level. Oh well, I will have to write it again.  up early, so it should be possible.

If you were the person who purchased it and you know the timeframe it was purchased in then you can login to your eBay account

then go to your purchase history page
http://www.ebay.com/myb/PurchaseHistory
then select 2014 from dropdown (I think this only goes back 3 years total). some listings will have plenty of info & some will have little to no info.

even those with little info will have at least the purchase price and item number, like 301812442962 ... they will also have the username of the person who sold you the item & maybe you could contact the seller.

there are some services like http://www.worthpoint.com for looking up item prices

if you can locate the name of the purchased product on eBay from your history you can then search for that name, then click the completed auctions filter ("sold listings") in the left column to see recently sold matching items

Yes its in my listing, just item details removed, I guess by the seller:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231409387126

Archive never went deep enough at the time. Google has dropped it from showing.

Its not a big deal, but it would be handy when re selling it.  It was a boat engine, and it has been fiddled with. I can remember some of it, but not all of it.

aaron,
I had a look back at worthpoint and it was very useful.  Thank you.
I found no listing info about my boat engine, but I did discover there were none sold in the worldwide data.  Someone has put up a classified at twice the price I paid for mine at auction, which is as much as I would expect for the boat and the trailer and engine combined.

So it confirmed I might be best off separating the three.
