But if it goes like the one that created the Yellowstone Caldera it will be a big event.
But on average, the fault has averaged one eruption every 700,000 years and we're only 630,000 years into the cycle, so we're totally safe.

The good news is that even though the Yellowstone Caldera could wipe out much of the habitable continent, it has never caused an extinction event.
