I always say that if people want to know what the endpoints of this are, I think the best two books I've read on the subject are sci-fi
Vernor Vinge, Rainbows End - written in 2006 and set in 2025 (so in 2006 Vinge saw a slightly accelerated timeline compared to what Kurzweil suggests now).
Peter Hamiliton, Judas Unchained. Amazing operatic sci-fi that anticipates the entire world that Kurzweil wants - cellular rejuvenation, integrated tech.
Vinge and Hamilton are prescient and worth reading if you want to think about the future.
