Money from Nigeria - harder than expected
« on: January 28, 2021, 11:33:49 PM »
A fellow needs to send me money from his location in Nigeria and it's proving to be harder than expected. He couldn't even send it in the form of an Amazon gift card.

That sounds like the beginning of a 419 scam, but it's a real situation.

He's a chaplain in the Nigeria Navy, and needs to pay me for copy editing services on his doctoral dissertation.

I've started the work in faith that the $$$ will sort out somehow!

That's funny if it wasn't so frustrating.
I think moving money about is considerably more difficult than it was 20 years ago.

Have you tried Western Union?  expensive though.
Paypal won't work I am pretty confident.

Can he send it to an intermediary in a different country?

We finally made it work.

He got a friend in Canada to pay me via Interac transfer.

How he repays his friend I don't know, but all is well at my end.

Learn how to use STYLES in Microsoft Word!
