I saw that, but didn't pay much attention because I really don't think 12 weeks tells you anything.

I would say if you take any meat eater and make them vegan for 12 weeks, almost everyone is going to see improvement in basic health indicators, like the one twin saw. The question is what happens if they keep that up for 10 or 20 or 50 years? It takes a long time for things like B12 or iron or zinc deficiencies to show up.

Moreover, vegan diets tend to pack plenty of fiber, plant protein, and antioxidants
...
Diets rich in these nutrients are believed to safeguard against obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and heart disease — which could promote increased life expectancy

Everything keeps pointing to whole natural foods as the way to go to avoid lifestyle diseases.

Yup, avoid those processed foods seems to be a theme.

Seems like some meat/dairy is good for us: (he says hopefully)

the vegan diet resulted in a severe reduction in gut bacteria diversity, while it remained stable during the meat and dairy diet. In theory, this means that vegan Hugo could potentially have been more susceptible to illnesses compared to Ross.

I think there maybe other factors outside diet for healthier life like walking more and drinking wine and stuff.
