J.R.R. Tolkien, Marc Chagall, Avicenna, Marilyn Monroe, Elijah Wood just in a quick scan of the globe.

Then again... it has George Washington as born in the suburbs of Pittsburgh.

This seems to be due to a confusion between Westmoreland County, PA and the county of the same name in VA

There's definitely some data errors in there. Mungo Park is a famous local explorer, the map has him born on the other side of the country.

Aside from George Washington, the surprises were correct in my case. Marc Chagall was born Moishe Chagall in Belarus. J.R.R. Tolkien was born in southern Africa. Et cetera.

Some occasional errors aside, I think it's a really impressive presentation of data and it makes me rethink some assumptions about the way the world works - Chagall is "French" and Tolkien is "British", "English" even....
