Most of them are here as well as the remnants of a few other forums.   Heavy on Brits, though it manages to struggle on even with that burden.

Am hoping the NOTW capitulating isn't the end of it. A lot of Murdoch's enemies - quite rightly - smell blood on this and could do some serious damage to his organisation.

I see the New York Times are leading with it as a story today. If they can convince the American public that Murdoch is a man without any ethics (which is true; all he has ever been interested in is the bottom line) and play up the fact one of his newspapers hacked into the phone of a dead teenage girl along with dead ex-servicemen who bravely fought for their country (this bit should be laid on thick) then you may get to see people turning away from the Post and Fox News. This is a long-shot as it stands but then who could have predicted the demise of Britain's best-selling Sunday newspaper even a few days ago?

Unfortunately I believe that punters have fairly short memories.  It comes at  good time for the UK govt because the next election is almost 4 years away and some other scandal will happen before then.

I notice that NOTW has taken the paywall off their site.

I think that the sales of NOTW on Sunday will be through the roof because it is the last issue.  It also wouldn't surprise me to see many thousands of copies sent on RAF flights to Afghanistan.

I agree with Gurtie, there will be a "SUNday" type paper before Christmas for sure.

It's good to see the NUJ giving a fight - but they are a toothless set of wimp twats who will do nada if it is going to cost them a penny.
It is shame the UK doesn't have the perp walk.  I would have loved to see Coulson being led in handcuffs (especially if he was still at #10 - what cracking tv pics that would have been) - this "He was arrested by appointment at a south London police station" wouldn't stack up for me, I would have a couple of plods hammering on my door and shoved in the back of a panda car to be whisked off to the nick to have fingerprints, dna and photeys taken after my shoe laces and belt were removed.

Can't wait for the other papers to be outed - Reports say they were all at it - including the Sun.

I wonder how deep it runs at other papers as well though. Presumably the Guardian are happy they're squeaky clean or they wouldn't have taken things this far, but I certainly know of one magazine who did some quite murky investigations to get info on someone and I'd be willing to bet most of them wouldn't exactly come out smelling of roses if someone dug deep.
