My Advice to you...Don't EVER discount
« on: November 09, 2010, 03:12:05 PM »
If you grade clients a,b,c or d with A being the best, the sort of people you get the most sh## off are the ones who moan the most and are C's or D's which is "cant work woth" or "dead"

Don'd discount your stuff EVER!

I fundamentally agree BUT while it's worked well for me on domain sales I had to suck it up and discount mightily (50%) to get potential tenants to lease commercial storefronts in some small shopping strips we own.

You can discount on the front end and make it up on the back in spades.

Yeah, but you should keep in mind that Gimp's basic premise is still correct; you're buying whine-y clients when dealing on that end of the spectrum.  So what I did was to carefully outline the very basic services I'd be providing for the reduced price and what my expectations were for them regarding increased responsibilities as a tenant.
