15 years ago Peachtree dominated the small biz accounting market here in the US. Quicken (basic checking) expanded into Quickbooks (full accounting) and essentially swept the market. You can get QB Pro 2010 on Amazon for about $125, I think ...as 2011 version came out in Oct. Wherever you get it, read the reviews on Amazon or business forums to get a feel for the tricks Intuit pulls. There has been, IMO, some elements of crippleware and heavy doses of walled-garden marketing to the user base built into past packages. Nagware was also I problem. Still, even with the ugly warts, most of us on QB can't find a better alternative.
