NFFC showed be an oak that was 600+ years old in that forest.

Did not look as good as your tree RC.

English folklore > Robin Hood took a DUMP in that forest  8)

I'd always meant to go see it but it has been popping up on reddit lately and that reminded me. I was in Charleston over the weekend.  All of the branches you see in the foreground are part of it. What you can't tell from Louise's picture is that we're still about 20ft/7m from the outside edge of the canopy.

The views shown there, while giving the best profile, are from the less dense side of the tree and make it seem lighter & more air-y than it really is.  The amount of lumber/weight suspended horizontally is incomprehensible.
