I think someone is listening...and I'm freaking out..

I was on the phone with my friend Sarah this morning.  I was in my office with my computer on.

She was talking about how she needed some help with some interviews that she needed transcribed.  I told her I think I had some software for that, and I could help her out. 

I got up, got some coffee, did some different things.  Opened browser and went to a site.  And the site had an advertisement for transcription services.

I *never* look for transcription services.  This is the ONLY reference I've ever had:  on a phone call with my friend.

What do I do?  I'm freaking out.

Where you on your cell phone?  What was the OS on the computer?  My guess is that there was some type of Siri/Alexa/Google Assistant/Cortana type of program that picked up cues from your conversation and then fed it to advertising.

Iphone 5C

Macintosh El Capitan 10.11.6

They are on the same network and there is a bluetooth connection...That must be it.

You only remember coincidences, not the 50 million times "it" didn't happen.

That said assume someone is always listening to everything you say, quite liberating once you cross the threshold.

I showed NFFC my camera cover last week, he said he was almost wishing people were watching him haha
