I was looking at the Healthdata.org data by state: https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

Florida is still a month away from this peaking. In contrast Washington is only 9 days away from the peak. This is going to go very poorly for Florida very soon.

Jen's aunt & uncle live in Naples Florida, I sent them the healthweather.us link a couple of weeks ago as a warring of things to come over there.  In the response they said that there has been very little local news about CV-19 and that life seemed to be carrying on like usual.  Luck wold have it that they both are recovering from surgery and have been home for weeks.  I urges them to continue staying home and stock up on food.

I'm not sure I believe that map. My friend in Truckee said the traffic has been terrible and they finally had to force all short-term rentals to close because people were coming up from the Bay Area in droves.

But perhaps a tiny percentage of people from the Bay Area violating the order leads to a massive crowd in a small town like Truckee

The same has been happening in all 'remote' resort destinations.  The Outer Banks closed the bridges from the mainland.  And Martha's Vineyard (IIRC) tried to shut down the corona refugees.  Rhode Island has their state troopers going door-to-door through cottages and ejecting NYC-ites.

I'd guess it is massively flawed ...but still points in the right direction.  The fitness tracker incident with US military bases was a good precedent.

I could attest to what I'm seeing; in the few times I've been out (conveying groceries to various family members) traffic is substantially down on the roads and highways.  As of right now I think we're isolating pretty well overall, masks are everywhere.


This link shows the infection density by state. (https://time.com/5814139/coronavirus-state-data-tracker/)  Testing problems are a factor, but it is an interesting way to look at how states are doing.

Ha! Michigan and Minnesota were both in my feeds yesterday about covid upticks.
