OK...I realize the best way to get out of the annoyance is not to turn the TV on at all, but if you want to watch a program or two or the NEWS, you can mute out all the crap.
Though I must say, I'd be tempted to program the unit to turn the tv off and put it on my Dad's TV just to mess with him...The unit would turn the TV off from a keyword, he'd turn it back on. The unit would turn it off...he'd turn it back on...repeat etc...
*chuckle* That's kinda mean, I realize..but a great April Fool's day joke if nothing else....
