The Vindication of Cheese

In the very very very good news department
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2018/07/cheese-butter-not-necessarily-linked-to-death/565253/

Sorry... but the famous chocolate "study" is still bogus. Working on that one ;-)

Good read.

"study.. tells us more about the complexities of human nutrition and stymies efforts to fit nutrients into simple good-bad binaries"

I get full labs for blood every month.  My diet is nothing like the recommended ESRD guidlines, yet I have near-perfect labs almost every time.  Yesterday, I told the clinic crew that I stopped for a Bojangles cheese biscuit on the way.  (Dairy products are bad for us because of the phosphorous.) My nutritionist quipped that the biscuit was worse than the cheese. She was right.

Thats been my mantra for years.  I have forever told any child in my house:

"Of course I eat butter, why would I eat plastic."
And "full fat milk is 96% fat free, why skim of the best bit? Its because they can sell it separately for more, not for your health."

I dont think spreads are quite as bad as plastic these days but in the UK "I cannot believe its not butter" is horrible....  I can, you would have no taste buds at all if your thought that.
... Make sure you live before you die.

>> famous chocolate "study"

Spotted on Facebook:

"Be grateful that no matter how much chocolate you eat, your earrings will still fit."
