Tough Guy: The Safest Most Dangerous Event in the World
« on: February 05, 2012, 09:00:58 PM »
The guy in teh video looks like Colonel Sanders (of Fried Chicken Fame) turned Brit.  What a character.  Out of all the events, including running through fire, traversing rope over water and crawling through barbed wire, I'd wager the most difficult and what causes the most injuries is the innocent looking mud pit.

Yes I did!

Though I did the summer one - which is twice the distance, but the pools of mud are a few degrees warmer.

Good fun event.

A good laugh... would do it again.  Maybe that's a rose tinted retrospective view now the wounds have healed.

They market the event as rabidly dangerous.  Whilst much of it is not the sort of thing you would do every day, and you *could* get hurt, the majority come off relatively unscathed.  Just the odd scratch, and about an inch thick layer of mud all round.

I'm told by those that have done the winter event that the my difficult thing is avoiding cramping up as soon as you jump into the freezing pools.

Similar event but taken up another level: http://runforyourlives.com/ I am actually considering doing this one and I haven't ran more than a couple miles in years.

Could be pretty awesome if the Zombies are good at their job or it could just be like a lame haunted house

Run for your lives video:  http://vimeo.com/31000652

What is that music anyway?

And one of the FAQ's is "Will there be ~actual~ zombies?"  Heh..

I don't understand the flags though...
