I think the ballpark was having a "Selfie Day" or Social Media Day or something along those lines. Not trying to justify selfies in any way but it isn't as ridiculous as it looks.

Yup. Try taking the subway each morning, not one, not a single one of them ever looks up form the phone. I could enter it nude and they won't notice.

I think of the selfie thing as a "cultural moment" sort of like when everyone first got Walkmen. Remember the famous cartoon that showed everyone at a party, all on their own Walkman(tm)?
