Google 'haters' getting an egging.
« on: November 23, 2010, 09:00:17 PM »
I'm not sure if I'm more concerned that people think this is a good thing to do, or that they have empty enough lives to bother doing it

what does everyone feel about street view? We're not actually on it because the neighbours complained about Google driving down a private lane, and I'm sort of relieved about that, to be honest. I feel like it shouldn't really matter though.

I am not on it, they did not come down my road. I knew they were close as I saw their car. I rushed back and got my camera out. I was going to take loads of picturesof them to wind them up. I was lead to beleive they did not like that, some sort of civil rights bollocks lol.

They never came, I got bored and my road is not on the map. Maybe they know what I was planning.

I do think people need to get a grip.

I think DaveN may be in trouble, I seem to remember reading he deleted half his street :-)

i think its fantastic, I get a customer contact me and i take the details, address post code etc

I can zoom in and see the street detail for wagon access, the driveway location and rough size before i have put the keys in my van to go and give them a quote

we got caught with the google street car in a cul de sack July last year, 3 different cars came into the same small street within 15 minutes of each other, the final car had me and my mate stood there looking stupid as the car drove off our heads followed it

as it happens the photo it shows for the post code has me stood there waiting for the wheel barrow to be filled

somewhat related, via Sphinn  http://www.thunderseo.com/blog/what-thats-my-competitor-my-google-places-listing-or-how-change-street-view-image-google-places . Now there's an idea, next time someone spots a google car going down a competitors street I know where I'll be directing the branded vans!

Saw the Google car go past me here, was disappointed when i never made it to the site :)

This made me chuckle the other day..

First, there was the tenant who happened to enjoy the same office building as Google in Munich. This tenant requested that the building should be blurred. Which meant that Google had to comply with blurring its own offices.

Heheh, good one Mick. Too bad the blurred license plate interferes with your lovely face pic :)
